Orange apps

This Contest is initiated by Orange Jordan to support Innovators, Developers and Entrepreneurs to produce innovative mobile applications and solutions serving the local needs and challenges.
The contest will create an innovative environment for the participants to create and provide the necessary support for taking it successfully to the market

Promote Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Field of Applications
Create relations and links with Developers and Entrepreneurs in the Middle East and establish a relationship between mobile app developers and Orange
Produce a pool of professional mobile applications.
Support shortlisted applications to be introduced in Orange Apps shop
Celebrate Innovation in the field of Mobile Applications.

The contest categories are open for Mobile applications serving but not limited to the following fields:

Entertainment: Social Networks, Media, News, Sports, lifestyle...etc.
Business: Small and Medium enterprises, Large Business, Financial markets, Banks..etc.
Students : either in schools or universities
Meet business & technical criteria of Orange judging team
Community: education, health and fitness, transportation, water and energy weather, tourism... etc
Orange employees

The Mobile Application should be a useful application which meets the needs, solve problems and to be customized to Orange Users Style.
The Mobile Application should be developed only for the following: Android/ Blackberry/ Java /Symbian /Windows.
Applications language is mandatory in Arabic (English is a plus).
Participants could apply as individuals or teams or as a company (startup or established).
For startups which are not established yet, founder should apply as an Entrepreneur.
In case of a team submission, a team leader should be designated as a point of contact.
Participants should declare any winning or participation in past mobile applications competition in details.
The participant's age shouldn't be less than 16 years
Participants must read and accept the Terms and Conditions prior to entry to the contest

Entrepreneurs (Planning to start-up a company or companies underdevelopment and not registered yet).
Students (schools, Undergraduates and Postgraduates).

The winning applications should meet the following criteria:

Meet the requirements of the contest phases and all deadlines.
Solving real problems, challenges and meet specific needs for mobile users in the MENA region
Meeting acceptance (Business & Technical) criteria of Orange Jordan and partners

Providing Financial Awards to the top winners, total amount of prizes will exceed $50,000.
Supporting top winners with marketing support to sell their applications through Orange distribution channels
The top winners will have the opportunity to be Orange Partner , he or she can publish the applications through Orange distribution channels.

Developers can register starting from 16th of May 2011 till 12th of June 2011.
The top 50 ideas will be notified by email & SMS to submit their applications
The deadline for submitting the applications will be on 30th of June, 2011
After testing the submitted applications, the short listed applications will be selected and notified by email and SMS to present their applications in front of our Jury in the final Presentation Event.
The top winners will be awarded during the Award ceremony which will be after med of July.
